A Research Environment Second to None

CHR is actually comprised of two campuses:  an administrative campus and a high tech, state-of-the-art research facility, adjacent to the Savannah River Site.  Half of the research facility is occupied by scientists and researchers from the Savannah River National Lab while the other half is reserved for individuals associated with public institutions or private firms.

Currently, CHR has over 12,000 square feet of available lab space ready to be customized for specific research needs.  All labs come equipped with:
  • Once-through ventilation for hydrogen safety,
  • Temperature and humidity control,
  • Hoods available in a variety of configurations, snorkels and other ventilation and exhaust systems,
  • Research gases piped into each lab,
  • High capacity electrical service, and the
  • Flexibility to grow with your research needs.

In addition to lab space and access to state-of-the-art equipment such as the center's mass spectrometer, research partners have access to:
  • CHR's computer network,
  • 8,000 square feet of conference space and meeting facilities,
  • Common areas such as dining, display and office areas, and,
  • An area rich in hydrogen expertise and support.

Upon request, CHR has the following meeting facilities available for conferences and symposiums:
  • 125-Capacity Meeting Room wired for superb audio-visual capability
  • Executive Board Room
  • Display area/ commons
  • Full kitchen - (or catering kitchen)
  • Private office for guest lecturer/ visiting researcher
